GUATEMALA FINCA VISTA HERMOSA

Huehuetenango,  Michicoy Micro-lot
$16/ pound

From the world renowned Edwin Martinez comes a coffee of extraordinary elegance. Nestled on a small, family owned farm, Edwin and his family produce award winning coffees year after year. Much like the Madan estate from Papua New Guinea that I offered earlier this past season, this is a relationship direct coffee. This means that I buy the coffee directly from the farmer, essentially cutting out any middle men. This helps to build a more sustainable livelihood for the farmer, and brings you a fantastic cup year after year. In the cup, you’ll find flavor notes of sweet cocoa, malt, maraschino cherries, and agave nectar.

An eclectic mix of Acaiá, Catuaí, Icatú, and Mundo Novo varietals offers a cup that has flavor elements that are bold, creamy, velvety, smoky/dark chocolate, big body, low acidity, and ideal as an espresso component. The natural process refers to the drying of the coffee cherry onto the bean. This will cause the coffee to absorb a lot of residual sugars, giving you a fantastically sweet cup.
